• Allows a nonprofit health information organization designated by the department as the state's official health information exchange to receive immunization data from the child immunization reporting system and communicable disease information.

• Clarifies that health care providers and entities receiving confidential health information must comply with HIPAA privacy standards (45 Code of Federal Regulations parts 160, 164) when using or disclosing that information.

• Permits the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System's external quality review organization and entities with business associate agreements to receive identifying immunization information from the child immunization reporting system.

• Designates nonprofit health information organizations as authorized recipients of communicable disease-related information when designated by the department as the state's official health information exchange.

• Became effective immediately upon the Governor's approval on April 9, 2021.
