AZ SB1604

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 32-1934 to modify pharmacy requirements for hospitals with fewer than 50 beds.

Allows rural hospitals in counties with populations under 500,000 to operate remote dispensing site pharmacies under remote supervision of a pharmacist, subject to board approval.

Remote dispensing operations must comply with requirements established in Section 32-1961.01 and only operate during hours when the pharmacy is open.

Maintains existing requirements that pharmacists dispense all medications to patients upon hospital discharge and that non-pharmacists cannot compound, manufacture, dispense, label, package, or process drugs.

Effective date: April 5, 2021.
