Local education agencies must ensure students with unpaid meal fees are not shamed, treated differently, or served different meals than students without unpaid fees.

Schools may still serve alternative meals to students requiring special meals for dietary or religious reasons.

School personnel and volunteers cannot take disciplinary action that results in denial or delay of meals meeting nutrition standards prescribed in section 15-242.
