SB 1674 Summary

• Arizona Criminal Justice Commission must present annual reports to the legislature beginning July 1, 2022, on prosecutorial data from the previous calendar year and publish reports publicly on its website.

• Attorney General must provide disaggregated criminal case data to the Commission biweekly beginning July 1, 2022, including defendant demographics, charges, custody dates, court appearances, and case dispositions.

• Data collection must include pretrial release determinations, bail/bond information, sentencing details, court fees, fines, restitution amounts, and plea deal offers for each defendant and alleged offense.

• Board of Executive Clemency must report biweekly beginning January 1, 2022, on parole and community supervision violation hearing outcomes and the number of individuals remanded to Department of Corrections custody.

• Entities that fail to collect and transmit required data become ineligible to receive funding from the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission or any state grant program for five years following noncompliance.
