Arizona Legislature expresses strong support for the federal Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would require healthcare providers to give medically appropriate care to infants born alive following abortion procedures using the same skill and diligence as for any other premature infant.

Arizona Legislature expresses strong support for the federal Ensuring Accurate and Complete Abortion Data Reporting Act of 2019, which would condition certain Medicaid family planning funds on states gathering and reporting comprehensive abortion data to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including instances of unborn children surviving abortion attempts.

Resolution cites a 2017 poll showing 77% of Americans support legislation requiring the same medical treatment for babies surviving failed abortions as for other prematurely born infants.

Arizona Secretary of State is directed to transmit copies of the resolution to the Governor, President of the United States, President of the U.S. Senate, Speaker of the U.S. House, and all Arizona Members of Congress.

Bill passed the Arizona Senate on February 24, 2021 and the House on March 18, 2021.
