Reduces the reemployment waiting period for retired public safety and corrections retirement system (PSPRS) members from twelve months to six months before they can resume pension payments when reemployed by the same employer.

Applies the six-month waiting period requirement to both PSPRS members (section 38-849) and corrections officer retirement plan (CORP) members (section 38-884).

Allows retired members reemployed within the six-month period to resume receiving pension payments after six months, minus any time already served as not reemployed, if at least sixty consecutive days have passed.

Maintains the requirement that pension payments are suspended during any reemployment period within six months of retirement, with overpayment recovery possible unless the board determines reemployment was unintentional circumvention of requirements.

Preserves exceptions allowing immediate pension continuation for certain circumstances including open competitive hiring processes, fire inspector/arson investigator positions, and disability-related job reassignments under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
