Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 36-2907 to add diabetes outpatient self-management training services as a covered health and medical service under AHCCCS, with up to 10 program hours annually when prescribed by a primary care practitioner.

Coverage applies when a member is initially diagnosed with diabetes or, for previously diagnosed members, when their diagnosis, medical condition, or treatment regimen changes, or when they are not meeting appropriate clinical outcomes.

Defines diabetes outpatient self-management training services according to 42 United States Code section 1395x (Medicare standards).

Prohibits use of monies from the hospital assessment fund to provide the diabetes outpatient self-management training services.

Effective date: June 29, 2022.
