AZ HB2141

Amends the composition of the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission to require at least one appointed member be a member of an Arizona Indian tribe.

Maintains the commission's structure of 6 ex-officio members (Attorney General, Department of Public Safety Director, Department of Corrections Director, Administrative Director of Courts, Board of Executive Clemency Chairman, and one other position) plus 14 gubernatorial appointees.

Preserves existing requirements that appointed members include police chiefs, county attorneys, county sheriffs from counties of varying population sizes, a law enforcement leader, former judge, mayor, county supervisor, and chief probation officer.

Allows current commission members to continue serving until their terms expire; subsequent appointments must follow the new statutory requirements including the tribal member mandate.
