AZ HB2145

Prohibits the state of Arizona and its political subdivisions (counties, cities, towns, community college districts, and school districts) from making ransom payments to remove or decrypt ransomware from their system files.

Requires immediate notification to the director of the Arizona Department of Homeland Security when a ransomware attack occurs on state or political subdivision system files.

Defines "ransomware" as malware that requires victims to pay a ransom to access encrypted files.

Applies to all political subdivisions including counties, cities, charter cities, towns, community college districts, and school districts in Arizona.
