AZ HB2296

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 16-579 to require electors to present government-issued photo identification before receiving a ballot.

Replaces the current system allowing alternative identification documents (utility bills, bank statements, vehicle registration, etc.) with a requirement for valid government-issued photo ID bearing the elector's photograph, name, and address.

Electors unable to present compliant government-issued photo identification may only vote a provisional ballot or conditional provisional ballot.

Requires an affirmative vote of at least three-fourths of the members of each house of the legislature for the amendment to become effective, per Arizona Constitution article IV, part 1, section 1.
