Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 8-303 regarding procedures for taking juveniles into temporary custody.

Requires peace officers to advise juveniles of their Miranda rights in comprehensible language before questioning when taking them into custody for felony-level or breach of peace offenses.

Mandates peace officers make good faith efforts to notify parents, guardians, or custodians of the juvenile's custody as soon as practicable, unless notification poses a risk to the juvenile.

Requires notification of the Department of Child Safety for juveniles who are wards of the state, which must then notify the public defender, guardian ad litem, or court-appointed special advocate.

Became effective upon gubernatorial approval on July 6, 2022.
