HB2378 Summary

• Secretary of state must consult with county recorders and other election officers before settling election-related civil actions that materially affect them

• County recorders and election officers may object to proposed settlements based on difficulty or impracticability of settlement requirements

• Secretary of state cannot approve a settlement without consent of at least three-fourths of materially affected county recorders or election officers if sufficient evidence of difficulty or impracticability is provided

• County recorders and other election officers may join as parties in election-related civil actions covered by this statute
