Appropriates $1,500,000 from the state general fund in fiscal year 2022-2023 to the Arizona Department of Education for grants to school districts to purchase electric school buses.

Monies may only be spent when the department collects matching funds from gifts, grants, and donations from non-state and non-school district sources.

School districts applying for grants must demonstrate a commitment from the private sector to provide matching monies for electric school bus purchases.

The appropriation is exempt from lapsing provisions under Arizona Revised Statutes Section 35-190, allowing unused funds to carry forward.
