HB2407 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 36-2232 to establish specific factors the Department of Health Services must incorporate when calculating ambulance mileage rates.

• Requires mileage rate calculations to include 11 cost factors: vehicle licensure and registration, fuel, maintenance, repair, tires, insurance, mechanic wages and benefits, loan interest, overhead allocation, vehicle depreciation, and reserves for vehicle and equipment replacement.

• Maintains the director's authority to regulate ambulance operations, rates, response times, and certificates of necessity while adding the mileage rate calculation requirements as a new subsection H.
