• Repeals Arizona Revised Statutes section 36-663, which previously governed HIV testing consent requirements.

• Amends section 36-664 to revise confidentiality rules for communicable disease information, including HIV-related information.

• Maintains existing exceptions allowing disclosure of communicable disease information to health care providers, first responders, government agencies, courts, and other authorized entities under state and federal law.

• Preserves protections for HIV-related information, including restrictions on disclosure without authorization and procedures for reporting when identifiable third parties are at risk of HIV infection.

• Enacted into law by the Governor on May 20, 2022.
