Replaces fixed civil penalty amounts with penalties that adjust automatically based on federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) penalty amounts under the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015.

Removes specific dollar caps ($70,000 for willful violations, $7,000 for serious/nonserious/posting violations) and ties all penalty levels to the federal OSHA-adopted amounts instead.

Applies the new penalty structure to willful violations, repeated violations, serious violations, nonserious violations, posting violations, and abatement period failures.

Retains criminal penalties for knowingly violating occupational safety requirements that cause employee death (class 6 felony for first offense, class 5 felony for subsequent offenses).

Makes minor grammatical updates including changing "who" to "that" and "non-serious" to "nonserious" throughout the statute.
