• Repeals section 41-3022.21, Arizona Revised Statutes, and replaces it with a new termination provision for the Department of Juvenile Corrections.

• Establishes that the Department of Juvenile Corrections terminates on July 1, 2030, with Title 41, Chapter 26 and related provisions repealed on January 1, 2031.

• Continues the Department of Juvenile Corrections to provide supervisory staff and administrative functions for institutionalization, rehabilitation, education, and release of juvenile offenders.

• Applies retroactively to July 1, 2022.

• Approved by the Governor on March 30, 2022.
