Grants six weeks of paid family leave per fiscal year to eligible state employees for birth of a child or placement of a child through foster care or adoption.

Applies to state employees subject to Title 41, Chapter 4, Article 4 of Arizona Revised Statutes and certain exempt employees under section 41-742, subsection D.

Employees continue to receive their regular salary or compensation during the family leave period.

Employees do not accrue annual leave or sick leave during periods of family leave.

Requires the director of the department of administration to establish procedures for eligible employees to receive the family leave compensation.
