AZ HB2735

Establishes a sexual assault study committee consisting of 15 members appointed by the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives, including legislators, survivors, law enforcement, prosecutors, and representatives from victims' services organizations.

Committee shall study state and federal sexual assault laws, investigate local policies and practices of law enforcement and county attorneys regarding sexual assault investigations and prosecutions, and analyze training provided to professionals responding to sexual assault offenses.

Committee must submit a comprehensive report to the Governor, legislature, and relevant committees on or before December 1, 2023, detailing activities and recommendations.

Members receive no compensation but are eligible for expense reimbursement; the legislature shall provide staff and support services.

The committee and this section are repealed on June 30, 2024.
