Establishes the Public Safety and Violence Prevention Study Committee with 10 members including legislators, law enforcement officials, media representatives, gun rights and gun violence prevention advocates, and mental health providers.

Committee is led by two cochairpersons (one from the House, one from the Senate) appointed by legislative leaders and shall hold hearings, conduct fact-finding tours, and gather testimony from gun industry, mental health, and criminal justice sector participants.

Committee may request information and data from state agencies and political subdivisions; state agencies must provide services, equipment, documents, and facilities without cost to the committee.

Committee must submit a report to the Governor, President of the Senate, and Speaker of the House by December 31, 2022, with findings, recommendations, and identification of common ground among stakeholders regarding legislation and community strategies to reduce violence.

Committee members receive no compensation but are eligible for reimbursement of expenses; the committee is repealed on September 30, 2023.
