• Public educational institutions and universities/community colleges prohibited from discriminating against students, parents, or employees based on religion, religious viewpoint, expression, or belief.

• Institutions must adopt policies prohibiting discrimination motivated by anti-Semitism and treat such discrimination identically to discrimination motivated by race.

• Students cannot be penalized for religious content or viewpoint in coursework, artwork, or oral assignments; academic work expressing religious viewpoint must be evaluated on ordinary academic standards only.

• Students have rights to pray, engage in religious activities, and wear religious clothing, accessories, and jewelry to the same extent as nonreligious activities and expression are permitted.

• Students or parents must submit written complaints to the school principal (15-day response requirement) and superintendent (25-day response requirement) before initiating legal action to enforce the section's protections.
