AZ SB1025

Adds strangulation as a new form of aggravated assault when a person intentionally or knowingly impedes normal breathing or circulation of blood by applying pressure to the throat or neck, applying excessive pressure to the chest, or obstructing the nose and mouth.

Requires that strangulation-based aggravated assault occur in the context of domestic violence circumstances (as defined in section 13-3601, subsection A, paragraphs 1-6).

Establishes that persons convicted of aggravated assault by strangulation are not eligible for suspension of sentence, commutation, or release on any basis until the full sentence is served.

Classifies aggravated assault by strangulation as a class 4 felony.
