SB 1088 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes sections 13-1204, 15-341, 28-668, 28-959.01, 36-437, and 46-455 to include naturopathic physicians licensed under title 32, chapter 14 in various professional references previously limited to other licensed physicians.

• Expands the definition of "health care practitioner" in aggravated assault statutes to include naturopathic physicians, making assault on such practitioners a class 6 felony.

• Updates school district policies and health care facility regulations to recognize naturopathic physicians as licensed health care providers for purposes of student health services, athletic medical clearance, and direct payment pricing disclosures.

• Modifies references to physicians in motor vehicle window tinting exemptions, accident investigation procedures, and vulnerable adult neglect civil actions to explicitly include naturopathic physicians.

• Bill was approved by the Governor on March 18, 2022, and filed with the Secretary of State on the same date.
