State Board of Education shall adopt rules allowing certificated teachers and administrators to count childhood trauma awareness and prevention training as continuing education credits beginning in the 2023-2024 school year.

Department of Education shall offer optional childhood trauma awareness and prevention training to public school teachers and administrators covering effects of trauma on student achievement, brain development, and social development.

Training must include research-based strategies for engaging students experiencing trauma, understanding student demographics and poverty types, and developing school district action plans for students affected by childhood trauma.

Establishes the Childhood Trauma Awareness and Prevention Training Grant Program Fund to pay costs for eligible teachers and administrators to attend the training, with grants administered by the Department of Education.

Appropriates $100,000 from the state general fund in fiscal year 2022-2023 to the grant program fund, with appropriations continuously available and exempt from lapsing provisions.
