SB 1220 Summary

• Prohibits condominium associations from restricting owners, tenants, or guests from carrying, possessing, transporting, or storing firearms, firearm parts, or ammunition authorized under state or federal law in dwellings, offices, parking lots, and common elements.

• Prohibits planned community associations from restricting members, tenants, or guests from carrying, possessing, transporting, or storing firearms, firearm parts, or ammunition authorized under state or federal law on member property and in offices, parking lots, and common areas.

• Prohibits landlords from including rental agreement provisions that prevent tenants or guests from carrying, possessing, transporting, or storing firearms, firearm parts, or ammunition authorized under state or federal law in dwellings and parking areas open to tenant use.

• Prohibits self-service storage facility operators from including rental agreement provisions that prohibit occupants or guests from carrying, possessing, transporting, or storing firearms, firearm parts, or ammunition authorized under state or federal law in leased spaces and parking areas open to occupant use.

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes sections 33-1243, 33-1260.01, 33-1315, 33-1414, 33-1701, 33-1703, 33-1806.01, and 33-1818 relating to condominiums, planned communities, rental agreements, and storage facilities.
