Removes requirement that Arizona environmental standards be no more stringent than corresponding federal law, allowing the state to adopt stricter regulations.

Requires the director to establish drinking water aquifer water quality standards for five specific pollutants: perfluorooctanesulfonic acid, perfluorooctanoic acid, chromium-6, 1,4 dioxane, and other perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances detected in public water systems.

Mandates the department review standards adopted in other states, peer-reviewed science, and government agency studies when developing the new drinking water standards.

Requires the director to annually review the latest peer-reviewed science and conduct additional rulemaking if necessary to comply with the new standards.

Maintains existing procedures allowing persons to petition for numeric drinking water aquifer quality standards for pollutants not yet regulated.
