AZ SB1379

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 13-2929 to remove the requirement that a person be "in violation of a criminal offense" to be charged with unlawful transporting, moving, concealing, harboring or shielding of unlawful aliens.

Changes the penalty for violating the section from a class 1 misdemeanor to a class 6 felony.

Increases the penalty for violations involving two or more illegal aliens from a class 6 felony to a class 4 felony, with a minimum fine of $1,000 for each alien involved.

Maintains that vehicles used in commission of violations are subject to mandatory impoundment or immobilization.

Preserves existing exceptions for child safety workers and first responders transporting aliens in official capacities.
