SB 1390 Summary

• Repeals the data governance commission established by section 15-249.01 and removes requirements for department of education coordination with that commission on student data collection.

• Establishes sunset date of July 1, 2030 for the alternative teacher development program (section 15-552) and repeals the Arizona Scholarship for Pupils with Disabilities program effective immediately.

• Repeals sections establishing community accountability pilot program (section 41-1609.05), senior advisory committee on homeland security (section 41-4256), and various other committees and programs scheduled for termination.

• Delays repeal of title 31, chapter 2, article 6 (relating to the board of executive clemency and prisoner release procedures) until June 30, 2030.

• Makes technical corrections and updates to multiple statutes including changes to employment verification terminology, data submission requirements, and removal of references to repealed programs.
