Auto glass repair and replacement facilities must inform customers whether an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) recalibration is required and that any recalibration must meet or exceed vehicle manufacturer specifications.

Facilities must provide customers with an itemized description of all work to be performed and cannot represent that insurance will cover costs entirely unless the policy fully covers those costs.

If ADAS recalibration is not performed or unsuccessful, the facility must notify the customer and insurer in writing or electronically and recommend the vehicle be taken to a manufacturer-certified dealership or qualified facility.

Auto glass repair facilities conducting ADAS recalibration are not restricted to manufacturer-dictated tools, equipment, or procedures, provided the recalibration meets or exceeds manufacturer specifications.

Violations are subject to civil penalties of $2,500 per violation, enforceable under Title 20, Chapter 2, Article 6 of Arizona Revised Statutes.
