Senate Bill 1460 - Election Law Amendments

• Amends voter registration procedures to allow electors who move within the same county to correct their address at the polling place and cast a provisional ballot on election day.

• Expands the definition of "eligible person" for voter registration confidentiality protections to include public officials, and clarifies sealing procedures for voter records of those under orders of protection or in the address confidentiality program.

• Changes notice requirements for consolidated elections from 280 days to 210 days before the election date, and modifies notice requirements for nonpartisan elections to allow posting on public websites when no newspaper of general circulation exists in the district.

• Allows voters on the active early voting list who surrender their early ballot at the polling place to receive a standard ballot after presenting identification, and establishes procedures for electronic poll books to verify early ballot receipt status.

• Makes technical corrections to election law language throughout statutes including changes to precinct boundary procedures, emergency voting centers, and address confidentiality program coordination with county recorders.
