Local education agencies must ensure students with unpaid meal fees are not shamed, treated differently, or served meals differing from students without unpaid fees.

Schools may still serve alternative meals to students with dietary or religious requirements.

School personnel and volunteers are prohibited from taking disciplinary action that denies or delays meals meeting nutrition standards to any student.
