• Allows online lodging marketplaces to register with the department of revenue to collect and remit applicable transaction privilege and use taxes on behalf of online lodging operators (hosts), with online operators excluded from tax liability when the marketplace has collected taxes.

• Removes special licensing and reporting requirements for online lodging operators and marketplaces, integrating them into standard transaction privilege tax administration under chapter 5.

• Clarifies that online lodging operator income from transactions where the marketplace has remitted taxes is excluded from the transient lodging tax base to prevent double taxation.

• Makes conforming amendments to property tax classifications to include residential property leased or rented to lodgers in class four property taxation.
