Repeals and re-amends section 41-194.01 of the Arizona Revised Statutes regarding attorney general investigations of local government violations of state law.

Requires a legislator requesting an investigation to either represent the county, city, or town being investigated, or obtain written support from a legislator who does represent that jurisdiction.

Authorizes the attorney general to investigate ordinances or actions by local governments alleged to violate state law or the Arizona Constitution.

Allows the state treasurer to withhold and redistribute state shared revenues to a county, city, or town if violations are not resolved within 30 days of notification.

Permits the attorney general to file a special action in the Arizona Supreme Court for alleged violations and requires the local government to post a bond equal to six months of state shared revenues.
