SB 1602 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 41-1750 to expand the types of offenses for which criminal history records must be collected and maintained by the Department of Public Safety's central state repository.

• Adds requirement to procure and store criminal history records for specific offenses listed in sections 32-2422, 32-2441, 32-2612, 32-2622, 41-1758.03, and 41-1758.07, in addition to existing felony and domestic violence offense categories.

• Allows the Department of Public Safety to procure criminal history records and related information for violations not explicitly listed in the statute at the department's discretion.

• Permits criminal justice agencies to voluntarily provide criminal history records for violations not listed in the section.

• Effective December 31, 2022.
