AZ SB1607

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 26-174 regarding the Arizona State Guard, which may be established by the governor if the National Guard is called to federal service or for other reasons the governor deems necessary.

Requires the governor to issue rules governing the Arizona State Guard's administration and organization, including establishing a chain of command and a process by which individuals may volunteer and report for duty.

Deems appropriations made to the National Guard as appropriated to both the National Guard and the Arizona State Guard when established, and allows unexpended National Guard funds to be used for establishing and maintaining the Arizona State Guard.

The Arizona State Guard shall be governed by and subject to Arizona state laws pertaining to the National Guard insofar as practicable.
