Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 41-2822.01 regarding education requirements for committed youth in secure care facilities.

Committed youth without a high school diploma or certificate of equivalency must attend school full time and make satisfactory progress, while those with a diploma or equivalency may attend classes or educational programming as deemed appropriate by the department.

Requires committed youth making satisfactory progress in educational classes to work at least 20 hours per week, with up to 10 hours of homework counting toward this requirement.

Allows committed youth aged 16 or older who lack a high school diploma or equivalency and are functionally literate to take the general equivalency diploma test or state-approved equivalency test prior to release, after demonstrating readiness through assessment or practice test completion.
