AZ SB1705

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 41-835.02 to modify the composition of the state board on geographic and historic names.

Changes the requirement for one of three public members from being "an enrolled member of a recognized tribe or Indian community located in Arizona" to being "a current or former tribal elected official who has been nominated by the person's tribe to serve on the board."

Maintains the board's structure with one member each appointed by seven state agencies/organizations and three public members appointed by the governor.

Requires the geography department member position to rotate among Arizona State University, University of Arizona, and Northern Arizona University on two-year terms.

Preserves existing provisions for five-year staggered terms, expense reimbursement, quorum requirements, and annual election of board leadership.
