Requires medical directors of nursing care institutions to be certified by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine or equivalent organization specified by the department.

Medical directors hired or contracted after the bill's enactment must become certified within five years of hire or contract date.

Medical directors employed or contracted on or before January 1, 2023 must become certified by January 1, 2028.

Nursing care institutions must submit to the department the medical director's resume, certification status, and expected certification date upon initial hire or contract, and notify the department of any changes within ten calendar days.

All nursing care institutions must provide to the department by November 1, 2023 the resume and proof of certification or progress toward certification for their current medical director.
