Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 4-241 to allow licensees to use biometric identity verification devices as an alternative method to verify a person's age when purchasing liquor.

Permits biometric verification to be used in lieu of or in addition to the existing procedures of demanding identification, examining it for validity, matching the photograph, and verifying the date of birth.

Requires that if a biometric device indicates a person is under the legal drinking age, the attempted purchase or entry to the licensed premises must be denied.

Maintains existing defenses and protections for licensees and employees who follow proper age verification procedures.

Bill was approved by the governor on April 6, 2023, and filed with the Secretary of State the same day.
