AZ HB2496

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 40-360 to revise the definition of "transmission line" to require five or more new structures spanning more than one mile in length at nominal voltages of 115,000 volts or more.

Clarifies that transmission line definition excludes structures located on the substation, switchyard, or generating site to which the line connects.

Updates grammatical language throughout the statute including replacing "which" with "that" and standardizing terminology such as "power plant" (as two words) and monetary amounts in standard format ($50,000).

Applies to transmission lines for which expenditures or financial commitments exceeding $50,000 have not been made before August 13, 1971.

Enacted as Chapter 21, House Bill 2496 and approved by the Governor on April 5, 2023.
