AZ HB2566

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 15-154 to establish prioritization requirements for the school safety program when distributing funds.

Requires the Department of Education to prioritize program proposals for school counselors and school social workers over proposals for school resource officers and juvenile probation officers when funding is insufficient to support all approved proposals.

Prohibits the Department of Education from selecting school districts or charter schools with school resource officer/juvenile probation officer proposals before or instead of those with approved school counselor/school social worker proposals.

Allows existing school safety program participants whose applications were approved before the effective date to continue participation until their approved term expires.

Maintains existing requirements for program proposals, including descriptions of school safety needs, law-related education plans, and evaluation methods for counseling and guidance programs.
