HB 2661 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 15-183 to require charter school sponsors to submit annual reports to the auditor general including books, accounts, reports and other records necessary for the auditor general to determine classroom spending percentages.

• Adds a new duty to the auditor general under section 41-1279.03 to monitor charter schools and determine the percentage of every dollar spent in the classroom, with results posted on each charter school's website home page.

• Requires each charter school to prominently display on its website a profile showing the percentage of every dollar spent in the classroom based on the most recent status report from the auditor general.

• Repeals a prior version of section 41-1279.03 (amended by Laws 2021, chapter 405, section 25) and replaces it with amended language establishing the auditor general's charter school classroom spending monitoring requirements.
