• Preserves exemptions allowing school districts to conduct approved gun safety programs on campuses and excludes private educational institutions from these firearm policy restrictions.

• Confirms that governing boards retain authority to adopt and enforce public order rules on educational institution property, except as limited by the new concealed weapon provisions.
