AZ HCR2002

Authorizes Arizona school districts to spend an additional $1,385,809,642 in local revenues during fiscal year 2022-2023, exceeding the constitutional expenditure limitation under Arizona Constitution Article IX, Section 21.

Requires approval by at least two-thirds of the membership of both the House and Senate by roll call vote on or before March 1, 2023 for the authorization to take effect.

Without this authorization, school districts would be required by statute to reduce pro rata their local revenue expenditures for the remainder of fiscal year 2022-2023.

Authorization is based on the State Board of Education's report that aggregate local revenues budgeted for fiscal year 2022-2023 exceed the constitutional limitation by $1,385,809,642.
