AZ HCR2035

Proposes a constitutional amendment to prohibit the death penalty in Arizona by adding Article II, Section 38 stating "No person shall be sentenced to death in this state."

Amends Article II, Section 22 to remove "capital offenses" from the list of crimes for which bail may be denied.

Amends Article II, Section 23 to remove references to "death" from jury trial provisions, changing language from "death or imprisonment for thirty years or more" to only "imprisonment for thirty years or more."

Repeals Article XXII, Section 22 of the Arizona Constitution, which relates to the judgment of death.

Requires submission of the proposition to voters at the next general election for approval.
