Arizona House of Representatives expels Representative Liz Harris from her seat representing legislative district 13, effective immediately.

Ethics Committee found Harris violated House Rule 1 by engaging in disorderly conduct after she organized and presided over a February 23, 2023 Joint Hearing where a presenter made unsubstantiated criminal allegations against Arizona officials and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Harris knowingly allowed the presentation of serious criminal allegations in an inappropriate legislative venue, failed to disclose presentation materials in advance per House deadlines, and used her elected position to provide a platform for criminal accusations instead of directing them to proper authorities.

Expulsion required a two-thirds majority vote in the House under Article IV, part 2, section 11 of the Arizona Constitution and was passed on April 12, 2023.
