SB 1480 Summary

• Adds a new prohibition under Arizona's misconduct involving weapons statute making it illegal to store a firearm without using a lock and key or combination lock on the trigger, or without placing the firearm in a securely locked box or other container.

• Classifies violation of the new firearm storage requirement as a class 1 misdemeanor.

• Applies the same penalties and exemptions to the firearm storage violation as other misconduct involving weapons offenses under subsection A, paragraphs 10 and 11.
