AZ SB1597

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 16-579.01 to require counties with a population of more than 500,000 persons to provide at least one polling location in each legislative district for on-site early ballot tabulation by the 2024 general election.

Allows qualified electors to bring their voted early ballots to their designated polling location or voting center on election day to have them tabulated immediately.

Requires county recorders to designate a physically separate area within precincts or voting centers for processing early ballots and to provide adequate poll workers, officials, and equipment to conduct this voting.

Mandates that votes from on-site early ballot tabulation be categorized and tallied separately in official canvass and voting reports by precinct.

Requires county recorders to reconcile the number of electors on the signature roster or electronic pollbook with the number of completed early ballot affidavits and voted early ballots tabulated on-site.
