SB 1720 - General Appropriations Act 2023-2024

• Appropriates $8.325 billion to superintendent of public instruction for K-12 education, including $6.139 billion for basic state aid and $300 million onetime supplement to school districts.

• Appropriates $20.072 billion to Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) for Medicaid services, behavioral health programs, and hospital payments.

• Appropriates $1.55 billion to state department of corrections for operations, private prison contracts, and inmate health care.

• Authorizes $197.267 billion to Arizona department of housing including $150 million to housing trust fund and $40 million for homeless shelter and services.

• Modifies fiscal year 2022-2023 appropriations by reducing new school facilities fund by $5.4 million and increasing appropriations for child safety, housing, and health services.
