Counties with populations under 250,000 (2020 census) may use revenue from any source to meet county fiscal obligations in fiscal year 2023-2024, including funds from countywide special taxing jurisdictions.

Counties using alternative revenue sources under this provision may not redirect more than $1,250,000 for purposes other than the original purpose of that revenue source.

Counties with populations under 250,000 must report to the director of the joint legislative budget committee by October 1, 2023 if they use revenues for purposes other than their designated purposes.

The report must specify which revenue sources and amounts the county intends to use for purposes other than the revenue source's original purpose during fiscal year 2023-2024.
